Rafa Alkorta, Athletic Bilbao sporting director, was very happy about the Spanish Super Cup won by his side against Barcelona, especially because he thinks that the people in Bilbao needed joy. 
"Beating Madrid and Barcelona in three days is impressive", he said about the success of a path that Gaizka Garitano started by qualifying the team for this Super Cup and which new manager Marcelino GarcÃa Toral ended.
"It has been a month in which many things have happened and we have done something very important, because of how we are and how we play", the international centre-back said referring to the philosophy of Athletic Bilbao playing with only Basque players.
"The key is involvement and in a few training sessions, these players have absorbed what Marcelino wants. We were already improving with Gaizka and we are still improving", Alkorta said.
"We will do something to celebrate", he said amidst the impossibility of doing it now with the health restrictions because of the pandemic
