Port-Harcourt Army Has Appointed New GOC

The Nigerian army has appointed Major General Sani Gambo Mohammed as the new general officer committed to 6 Divisions of the Nigerian army in Port Harcourt, Rivers.The appointment is part of the recent redistribution of senior military officers in the Nigerian army. 

General Mohammed is to take over from General Ibrahim Jallo, who was appointed GOC of action in December after the death of the old GOC, General Olu Irefin.

As seventh GOC from the port operationalization of 6 Division Harcourt in 2016, the Main General Mohammed will command the formations and units of the Army in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta and Rivers. 

In a statement, the Deputy Director [Acting], Public Relations of the Army, 6 Division Port Harcourt, Lieutenant Colonel Charles Ekeocha, said the new GOC, "before his new appointment was a director in the Department of Training and Operations at Headquarters from army".
