Matteo Guendouzi was one of Arsenal's bright young talents, but a falling out with boss Mikel Arteta and an incident which saw him grab a Brighton footballer by the neck saw the Frenchman loaned out.
Guendouzi was not being played by Arteta so the Gunners agreed to send him out to Hertha Berlin on loan last summer.
He had a difficult opening few weeks, but he has gradually adapted to German football and the team coached by Bruno Labbadia now have the opportunity to buy the footballer off the Gunners.
Michael Preetz, Hertha Berlin's sporting director, confirmed the news: "His Arsenal contract expires in June 2022 and there are only two options: extend his loan deal or buy him off them."
