The positive coronavirus results for Eden Hazard and Casemiro have been a major blow for Real Madrid. They had mostly avoided getting the virus up to now, but everything has changed this week.
The Belgian and the Brazilian's results mean that Madrid have lost three players to COVID-19 after Eder Militao tested positive at the start of the week. That means a total of four Real Madrid players affected by the virus.
Despite the strict application of the La Liga protocols, no plan is infallible and there are always possibilities of getting the virus outside the club's training facilities.
The pandemic is getting worse and worse and the city of Madrid is especially affected.
The first person affected was last July when Mariano Diaz tested positive. He reportedly got it when on holiday.
Others like Jovic, Vinicius and Lunin also had issues with the virus. The Serbian had to self-isolate after being in close contact with a friend who tested positive while Vinicius and Lunin had two false positives.
One of the things we do not know with Casemiro and Hazard is how long they will be out for. Mariano took 10 days to get a negative PCR test, but it depends on each person.
